About Edward
I have been an elementary school teacher for the last three years. I have taught various subjects; I taught 4th, 5th, and 2nd grade reading and math. I got my master's degree in Elementry Education from Johns Hopkins University. When teaching students, I focused on ensuring they understood their learning by following the gradual release model and having multiple points in the lessons for students to ask questions. When teaching students, I try multiple different strategies for understanding topic and then do practice with the strategies they they like the best. I engaged students by making the lessons cultural relvent to things that are going on in their life.

As a tutor, I will provide your students with culturally relevant lesson plans and differentiated instruction. I will be able to give your students multiple ways to understand a topic and ensure that they are having fun while learning. I tutor all kindergarten to 6th-grade subjects, including phonemic awareness and reading nonfiction books for student test prep. I can also teach math topics up to 6th grade, which includes basic geometry and algebra. I have also provided students with other methods to solve problems that will help them grow.
