About Michael
I have been teaching STEM for over 30 years. My background in Education (PhD form BC) and in Physics (MIT) , and my heart for students which grew from my Public school background (South Side of Chicago). I currently teach at an elite private school, but I have also taught suburban and urban schools as well as summer programs at MIT, and international students online.

How I teach... I introduce basic skills and concepts in ways that do not talk down to students. I try to meet them where they are and work backward to see how we can get them to where they want to go, in the time we have., and I try to do that by taking them on a mission to reach their goals.
A Typical lesson Plan... based on the goal of the student:
covers a topic of the day, a narrative/ plan or system to organize students thoughts and actions about problem solving around that concept, Guided Practice, independent practice and then interdependent feedback around the what worked, and didn't work and deeper questions to explore.
What sets ME apart...my experience and heart for all types of students. I have taught students from many different types of backgrounds, I have resources and tools at my disposal to help when we are offline or between sessions. I have taught students physics and advanced math from middle school to AP Calc and Physics, and my heart is to unleash the extraordinary learner in everyone.
Who My lessons are for... I love to support students who are trying to go to the next level, if they limited Skills or what an Advanced Challenge. If they have struggled with Physics or Math in the past, or have been looking for challenges beyond their regular or AP classroom.
