About Cherlyn
Hi, I’m Cherlyn, a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor who is passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals.
I provide personalised tuition for Primary, 11+ and Secondary students up to Year 11. My aim is to create a supportive and positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing confidence in their abilities.
Every lesson is tailored to the individual student. I begin by identifying their strengths and areas for improvement, then create lessons that target their specific needs. I use clear explanations, guided practice, exam-style questions, and regular feedback to help students build a strong understanding of each topic. For students preparing for assessments such as the 11+ or GCSEs, I also focus on exam technique, time management, and revision strategies.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit their preferred way of learning. Whether a student needs support with difficult topics, wants to improve their confidence, or is aiming for higher grades, I work patiently to help them make consistent progress.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student’s age and requirements.
I tutor students in:
• Primary Maths also in preparation for SATs
• 11+ Maths
• Secondary subjects up to Year 11, including Maths, Science
I am committed to being professional, reliable, and well-prepared for every lesson. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help students become more independent, confident learners who feel capable of succeeding both inside and outside the classroom.
