I teach Drumming with emphasis on rudimentary values in the healing arts

I have known Carlos for many years and he is outstanding in many ways. As a person Carlos is friendly and caring, with a great instinct into understanding a student's makeup to get the most out of their ability. As a musician Carlos excels and grooves as a drummer in many genres, and as a producer and multi instrumentalist he has the ears and the years to know when a song is right. As a collaborator, he has the instincts and knowledge to work with people to get them to give and produce their best.

Carlos loves to teach. I have personally seen him initiate excitement in playing drums, to the success of his students. Drum lessons teach more than playing the drums. This I have learned from observing his techniques and seeing first hand his teaching abilities and interaction with his students. His personal experience and dedicated training is to be recognized. He is one of the best drummers and teachers a student could ask for. His life experience intertwines with his teaching. He has a genuine heart for people, especially kids and wants to see them succeed in whatever they do. He makes his students excited to learn, even when they don't think they want to. He instills pride in his students and their accomplishments. Teaching is his life passion, which shows in his students.

In over 20 years developing and directing college Audio Recording departments, I have hired, mentored and directed more than two dozen faculty. Truly successful teachers possess mastery of the subject matter, empathy for the students, ability to teach to multiple learning styles, and to "teach to them where they are." Carlos has these four traits in spades. He is a master drummer and music technologist. He has been a professional drummer his entire adult life. When he first enrolled as an audio student, his music technology skills were at such a high level that I had him teach the class. Carlos, a is a born teacher, thriving as his students learn. He has gone on to teach at several institutions.
Carlos is a passionate believer in people. He is able to quickly identify how to reach a learner and to adapt learning strategies accordingly. Carlos is a master teacher.
