About Amara
Hello! I’m a guitar instructor with 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in World Music with a focus on Guitar Traditions. My background combines academic learning with hands-on experience in metal, shred, and progressive rock. These styles inspire my teaching approach. Speed and expression matter.
Lessons focus on technical accuracy and control. Students practice alternate picking, sweep picking, tapping, and legato techniques. Exercises are clear and progressive.
I teach both young students and adult players. Lessons are tailored to each individual. Everyone learns at a different pace.
Some want aggressive rhythm riffs. Others want advanced solo techniques. Both are exciting goals. Music theory helps connect ideas across the guitar neck. Students learn scales, modes, and phrasing. Practice becomes purposeful and engaging. Progress appears steadily. Together we develop powerful guitar technique and confidence.

I emphasize visual aids, detailed demonstrations, and slow-practice exercises. Fingerstyle phrasing, dynamics, and tonal expression are explored thoroughly. Students gain confidence interpreting complex pieces and shaping their own musical voice.
Some learners are motivated by recording and performance, others by returning to guitar later in life. I support both by tailoring exercises and tracking progress carefully. Lessons balance technique, creativity, and musicality.
Together, we uncover the richness of fingerstyle guitar. Each session strengthens skill, expression, and artistry. Students leave confident, inspired, and musically expressive.
