About Hayley
Being a substitute teacher has given me exposure to many different curriculums and teaching styles. Over the years I have gathered information and seen firsthand what works best for students. The only consistent thing when teaching is change. Educators have to be able to adjust when a student doesn't understand but unfortunately, not every teacher has the time or resources to do that. I am able to efficiently use our time to assess students' issues and explain in a way that they can understand.

- I like to meet the student where they are at and use the skills they already have to help them better understand harder topics.
- I briefly talk to them about what they are struggling with (if they are of appropriate age to understand) and what they feel they excel at.
- Before teaching anything, I like to watch a student attempt the problem on their own or read a piece of their writing. Using my observations of this, I can pinpoint where they are having issues and adjust.
- Not only can I show students how to get an answer to a specific question, I can teach them HOW to think about problems so they can learn to find answers for themselves.
