About Maximus
I’m a friendly and approachable postgraduate student currently studying at the University of Bath. Outside of university, I’m a keen sportsman and have played football throughout my time at university, including captaining my team at Cardiff.
I’ve always enjoyed maths and problem-solving, and I know how much difference it can make when something is explained in a way that actually makes sense. I’d like to use my academic background to help GCSE students become more confident with maths and feel less intimidated by difficult topics.
I’m patient, personable and easy to get along with, and I would aim to create a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through problems at their own pace.

I am new to tutoring, but I have a strong academic background in Maths, achieving a Grade 9 at GCSE and an A at A-Level. After achieving a 2:1 in Economics and Finance at Cardiff University, a highly numerical degree, I am now studying an MSc in Finance at the University of Bath.
My approach is to make sure students genuinely understand why a method works, rather than simply memorising steps. I aim to explain topics in clear, simple language, work through examples together, and then help students practise independently to build confidence.
Lessons would be tailored to the individual student, focusing on the topics they find most challenging, while also developing exam technique and confidence with past-paper questions. I am friendly, patient and personable, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions and working through mistakes.
I am offering GCSE Maths tutoring for students of all abilities, whether they want to build confidence, improve specific topics or work towards a higher grade. Lessons would typically last around one hour.
