About Serena
Hi! I’m Serena, a dedicated Grade 10 IB student at Bayview Secondary School with a strong passion for math and helping others learn. I understand how challenging math can feel at times, so my goal as a tutor is to make every concept clear, approachable, and even enjoyable. My lessons are organized, patient, and tailored to each student’s needs. I can help them master the basics, improve grades, or build problem-solving skills for the IB program. As someone who’s experienced with balancing academics and extracurriculars, I know how important it is to learn effectively and stay motivated. I take pride in my reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm for helping others reach their potential. My goal is to make math less intimidating and show students that with the right mindset and guidance, success is always within reach.

As a passionate IB student with strong math skills, I focus on helping students truly understand concepts instead of just memorizing formulas. My teaching style is patient, step-by-step, and personalized to each student’s learning pace. I use real examples and visual explanations to make even the hardest problems easier to follow and remember.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what the student already knows, followed by a focused explanation of new material using interactive examples. We then go through practice questions together, where I guide the student to find solutions on their own. Each session ends with a short recap and simple strategies to strengthen weak areas.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain complex math topics in a clear, relatable way and keep lessons engaging. I aim to build confidence and curiosity, not stress. My lessons are ideal for middle school and early high school students (Grades 6–10) who want to improve their math skills, prepare for tests, or gain a stronger foundation for future grades.
