About Rika
As a senior leader in my high school’s tutoring club, I developed a strong passion for helping students learn and grow. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Economics at the University of Michigan, where I continue to value education and personal growth. Outside of academics, I enjoy volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House, as well as baking, drawing, and going on long walks. I bring patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to every lesson, and I strive to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable learning and asking questions.

I have experience tutoring students in grades 1–7, and my approach focuses on creating a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I adapt each lesson to the student’s individual needs and learning style, using explanations, practice problems, and interactive activities to make challenging concepts easier to understand. A typical lesson begins with reviewing previous material, followed by introducing or reinforcing a new concept, practicing together, and ending with independent problems to make sure the student feels confident. I strive to make learning engaging while helping students build both their skills and confidence.
