About Shelby
I have forever loved maths since a young age and I have always found it to be the subject I succeeded most in. I quite like a challenge to keep me busy, and maths really does provide me with this. I'm currently studying a degree in maths and I am loving it. I am still a typical student who loves to party and I am super easy to talk to! As a hobby, I love to go to the gym as I find it to be a great stress-reliever after a long day of maths.

I have mentored A-Level maths students throughout my A-Level studies which gives me a lot of experience I can put to good use. However, I haven't always found maths an easy ride and really struggled at first with the jump from GCSE to A-Level, so I completely understand how rewarding and punishing maths can be at times.
With regards to my tutoring, I am very much flexible with my teaching styles and feel like I can adapt to most circumstances to help students. I find interactive learning to be the most useful. My usual plan would be to introduce the topic and an example, then attempt a question together. Finally, I'd give you a chance to attempt a few questions which I'd then mark and provide corrections. I have set myself the mission of making tutoring maths as fun as an experience as it can be. I think the main thing that helps somebody to succeed in maths is to find a way to enjoy it and make it less of a chore.
