About Maya
Enthusiastic and driven, I am a tutor who will strive to aid students in presenting the best version of themselves in their interview, - ensuring they are able to maximise their chances of getting offers from top universities. I am happy to recommend books, articles, podcasts and lectures that will set students' apart from others, send summaries, explain ideas and help students' with word choices in their personal statements.
I am in a uniquely valuable position to offer this insight having completed the UCAS process in 2023 and received offers from a variety of top UK universities including Oxford. Having spent 2 years reading history at Oxford I am in a position to understand what the tutors are looking for and what sets the competitive applicants apart from the rest.

I am flexible about lesson approach as this is very personal to the student. whether it is discussing the HAT papers together to approach them jointly or giving students more independence and discussing after the event - I am happy to approach it in whichever way the student prefers. I am enthusiastic and try and ensure students' interest in their subject is translated in to their HAT and later interview. Session length may be 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or an hour.
I tend to conduct my online lessons on Skype as it allows for communication about lessons times, video calls, and the sharing of documents.
I received all 9's in my GCSE's, am currently in my A level year taking History, Politics, and Economics. I have tutored family friends before. I am for anyone wanting help with interviews for History, Ancient History, Politics (including international relations), Classics, Economics, English and any other essay based subjects. I am starting Oxford history and have done practice interviews with friends going off to Oxford and Cambridge.

Maya is an incredible tutor. She has tutored me for five months now and I enjoy every lesson more and more. She not only makes me enjoy learning what she teaches, but also to be intrinsically interested in it myself. I turned up to my first lesson reluctantly and full of nerves, but Maya quickly put me at ease and made me feel comfortable.
