First I do a survey of how they are according to the subject they are seeing in their class, as far as they understand. I do a review and an explanation after this I proceed to do exercises where, I leave them alone and when I see that they have doubts I teach them how to solve them with tools on their own. Once the students are leveled I try to instill the pre-class research that consists of reading a bit about the subject that will be seen in the next class so that they arrive prepared.
