About Lorna
"Music exists as a discipline of precision and constant refinement. I teach Piano with a focus on rhythm, timing, and pedaling technique to ensure clarity. Having earned an MMus Music Performance degree from Berklee College of Music, I maintain a 3.0-year teaching career built on rigorous standards.
My lessons emphasize hand independence, jazz improvisation, and sight transposition to build a solid foundation. Students also work on accompaniment skills, music theory, scales, arpeggios, chord voicing, and ear training. Finding the internal logic of a complex composition is truly satisfying."

"Clarity during a session is defined by the immediate feedback provided on your physical technique. We start with a diagnostic playing assessment before we set a learning plan to isolate specific areas for improvement.
This ensures your 9.0 out of 10 goal is hit through objective measurement. Music theory informs every movement of your fingers across the keys during our time together.
My approach uses my background as an MMus holder to refine your touch and tonal quality. Correcting alignment early prevents long-term tension while accelerating your growth.
Precise adjustments result in sound that feels intentional and well-balanced. I track your development to ensure you hear the difference in your playing. This methodical process provides a clear map toward your eventual mastery of the instrument."
