About Stephanie

Hello! My name is Stephanie Citrino, and I’m excited to begin tutoring English. I have a background in Early Childhood Education and extensive experience working in both educational and administrative roles within school settings. My work has involved supporting students of various ages with reading, writing, and language development, always with a focus on clear communication and personalized learning. I’m passionate about helping others build confidence in their English skills through supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented sessions.

About the lesson

My Approach to English Tutoring: As a tutor, I focus on creating a supportive, confidence-building environment tailored to each student's unique learning style. My teaching is grounded in patience, consistency, and clear communication. With a background in Early Childhood Education and school-based support, I’m skilled in breaking down language concepts into manageable steps for learners of all levels. Teaching Methodology & Techniques: I use a mix of direct instruction, interactive discussion, guided practice, and real-life examples. For younger learners, I incorporate games and creative activities to make learning fun and engaging. For older students or adults, I focus more on practical application, structured exercises, and discussion-based learning to build fluency and critical thinking. I also integrate visual aids, writing tools, and reading strategies depending on the student’s needs—whether it's grammar, comprehension, essay writing, or vocabulary building. A Typical Lesson Plan: Warm-up – A short activity or review to activate prior knowledge. Main Lesson Focus – Introduction of a new concept or skill (e.g., writing structure, grammar rule, reading comprehension strategy). Guided Practice – We work through examples together and talk through the reasoning. Independent Practice – The student applies the concept with support as needed. Wrap-Up – A quick review, feedback, and goals for next time. Each lesson is tailored based on student progress and learning goals. What Sets Me Apart: I’m not just teaching English—I’m building a connection with each student. I take the time to understand their strengths, challenges, and goals, and I adjust my teaching accordingly. My school experience allows me to support learners not just academically, but with executive functioning, study skills, and confidence. I'm approachable, organized, and committed to making learning feel manageable and rewarding. Who My Lessons Are For: I offer tutoring for: Elementary and middle school students who need support in reading, writing, and language development High school students preparing for essays, presentations, or exams ESL learners of any age looking to build fluency and confidence in speaking, reading, and writing Adult learners needing English for everyday communication, work, or further education Whether you’re catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead—I can help you get there.
