About James
I have a BSc in psychology (1996) as well as an MSc in sport psychology (2004). I have worked with dozens of clients in elite and pre-elite sport since 2003 especially from football and Mixed Martial Arts (including three world no. 1s). Alongside this, I have been a football coach since 2002 working with a number of individuals and squads from grassroots to the professional level, including spending the last 10 years working in academy football in England. I hold the UEFA 'B' licence and FA advanced youth award (level 4) and have been a lecturer in sport coaching/science since 2009 on degree level courses and more recently completed a Professional Doctorate in elite performance exploring how to embed psych/social skills into football academy curricula.
All the above experiences have led me to develop an athlete-centred approach which puts you at the centre - we work together to help you help yourself.

James is a Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training (SEPIT) and has over 20 years' experience in providing individualised psych/social assessment and development with athletes, teams and coaches in MMA, football, golf and athletics.
The bespoke process begins with a holistic profiling exercise to determine clients' super strengths and areas for development.
We will then work together to implement an action plan based on the latest academic research and extensive practical experience as a performance consultant, lecturer, researcher and as a coach in elite sport.
These are skills that can be used by performers of any age/ability level that will not only improve performance in your sport but also in life.
