About Sally
Hi I'm Sally - a speech pathologist with five years experience. I am dedicated and passionate about providing a learning experience that is practical and fun! I have experience working with children with reading and writing difficulties and use a structured approach to set the child up for success when it comes to reading development! I am able to adapt learning materials (e.g. spelling rules, phonological awareness tasks) to the child's level to maximise learning and understanding. The nature of my work has allowed me to see the value of working with children with reading, language, learning or other difficulties. I have also worked with children with Autism, intellectual disability and ADHD and understand the importance of explicit, multi modal (e.g. visuals, tactile, auditory) instructions or cues to assist with a child's learning.

I base my classes on identifying the individual's strengths and areas requiring further improvement. Once those have been established, then it is easier to set goals and provide structured, explicit and meaningful lessons. I also care about the individual having fun and enjoying their lesson! As a speech pathologist, I know how much value games or toys can add to a lesson as it becomes extremely motivating. Overall, I want the individual to learn new skills, strengthen old skills and continue to build their own confidence in their abilities. I also like to provide feedback so that everyone is on the same page!
