About Molly
Hello Again! I'm Molly! I grew up in the state of Michigan and have moved around quite a lot since then. I've lived in Virginia while attending college at Liberty University where I obtained my associate's degree. After that I traveled across the country to move to Utah where I have settled for the time being. I've been tutoring since I was 13 in subjects math and science. At 15 I started tutoring in English grammar and writing as well. At 19 I worked for an organization that helped adults with disabilities where I learned to adapt my communication, teaching styles, and accommodations to the needs of my clients which I have begun to incorporate into my tutoring at age 20.

Hello! I have experience teaching various subjects, but I specialize in math. Any subject at elementary levels I can assist with. For other subjects besides math at middle and high school levels, it is mandatory that I have the textbook, homework, and other materials ahead of time. Before and during our first session, I prefer to discuss desired goals in tutoring that both the parent and child desire. This helps give me an idea of what motivates the student and how to do my job to the best of my ability. For the first few sessions, I try to gauge where the child is at in their skills and what areas they need the most help in. After every session I communicate with the parent (and student if age appropriate) what has been improved on and what still needs more work as well as any suggestions I have for the client to do outside of tutoring hours. It is important to build confidence in each student as they are learning. I try to point out every chance I get how they have improved and how their effort is paying off. I believe growing their confidence keeps them engaged and continues to motivate them as they continue to learn. The school year can be a challenging time for kids, especially when other life events are going on so my goal is to take some stress off of kiddo's plates so they can focus on being kids. I strongly believe that kids should have time to be kids so while I try to help them make school easier, I do everything I can to avoid giving them extra work outside of our sessions. I'm very flexible and work with clients to find the best times to schedule the next appointment each week as I know life isn't always smooth going. I'm willing to change things up as needed from switching subjects in tutoring to postponing the next session an hour for sports practice.
