Hi, I’m Megan — a passionate writer, editor, and graduate student currently earning my Master’s in Government. I’ve always loved the power of words and the way strong writing can open doors, whether in school, work, or everyday life. With a background in communication and academic research, I bring both practical skills and a deep appreciation for storytelling to my tutoring. When I’m not helping others strengthen their writing, I’m usually working on my own creative projects or digging into a good book. My Approach as a Writing Tutor
My teaching method is centered around encouragement, clarity, and customization. I believe that great writing comes from understanding both the rules and the creative freedom language allows. My approach blends structured guidance with collaborative conversation, making sure students feel both supported and empowered to express themselves confidently.
Lesson Structure:
A typical lesson begins with a quick check-in on goals or assignments. We’ll then dive into the writing task; whether it’s brainstorming, outlining, revising, or polishing. I often provide tips on grammar, tone, structure, and clarity as we go, with time at the end for reflection or take-home notes.

As a graduate student in Government at Johns Hopkins University with a professional background in communication, I combine academic rigor with a flexible, real-world approach. I understand the demands of writing in both scholarly and professional contexts, and I tailor each lesson to meet those needs.
