About Ian
I have 35 years' experience as a Physics teacher including a Head of Physics post and three positions as Head of Science, teaching in both the public and private sectors. I love Physics and spend a lot of time reading up on new innovations and discoveries in the field. Tutoring has been a wonderful opportunity for me to share my passion for the subject with people and support them in their journey so that they can achieve their goals. I have a full enhanced DBS certificate which I can share on request with you.

I am adaptable to meet your needs, whether it is explaining concepts, reviewing content or preparing for exams and honing your exam technique to maximise attainment. We will tailor the sessions to what you want. Some students want sessions that are very student led to meet identified areas of weakness whilst other want a more a detailed diagnosis, intervention and then checking that the learning is secure.
Lessons are usually one hour long, but again I can be flexible with this.
I have been tutoring for the last 7 years and I have taught and tutored AQA, Edexcel and OCR boards. Lessons are predominantly for exams in Physics either GCSE or A level.

Ian tutored my son for Physics A level, all online/virtually. My son found it really helpful, improving his knowledge and exam technique while I noticed a huge change in his confidence and motivation. I found Ian to be very well organised and an excellent communicator, and would wholeheartedly recommend his tutoring.
Ian worked with my daughter preparing her for physics A-Levels and I could not recommend him enough!

Ian tutored my son for his physics A level visiting our house every week. He was really easy to deal with and good at communicating about sessions. Ian was always on time and business-like.
