About James
My name is James Hammond. I am due to graduate in the summer of 2023, currently being a degree level student of popular music performance at BIMM Birmingham.
I have grown up playing music, having joined a local brass band when I was 7 and playing guitar/bass from the age of 12. I have completed ABRSM grades on the euphonium and studied music at GCSE and extend diploma level as well, receiving an A and Distinction* in these qualifications respectively.
I love teaching as it allows me to help new and inspiring musicians to fully realise their potential and understand that anyone can learn to play music!

I will create unique lessons, tailored to your personal music tastes and current skillset in order to make lessons fun, engaging as well as challenging. This is so you always feel like you are making progress, whilst also enjoying yourself, keeping motivation high!
I typically teach complete beginners to intermidiate level students. I am happy to teach any age from those in primary school and onwards. It's never too late to learn a new instrument!
