About Mikaela
I am a special education teacher, and speech language pathologist assistant.
I have been teaching literacy to individuals with dyslexia, and other language-based disorders for over 6 years.
I have two YouTube channels. One that supports social emotional learning for children, and the other for literacy teachings - Little Hucks Readers.
I love to teach students in a way that actually support their brain growth.

I use structured literacy, specifically The Wilson curriculum when working with individuals with dyslexia, dysgraphia or other language-based disorders.
It also has shown great success for those having a difficult time learning to read (whether diagnosed or not).
This is great intervention for foundational, beginning, and progressing readers.
I use fun visuals, and supporting "stories" to help with understanding difficult spelling and reading rules.
