Connection with students is a vital tool in tutoring. Hence, my approaches in building this connection for effective learning are thus:
✓ Good communication skills- effective communication involves speaking and listening. Listening as an approach helps me understand my student's feelings, assess their progress and not merely dominate the conversation.
✓ Flexibility- I adjust to meet the needs and learning styles of my students.
✓ Patience- Understanding the pace and ability of each student.
✓ Celebrating their progress and milestones
✓ Sharing personal experiences that help in building self confidence and trust.
✓ Train students to be self reliant and motivated.
