About Cassie
My name is Cassie Cicarella, and I am an incoming sophomore at Magnificat High School. I have always enjoyed reading fiction books and writing creative stories. In middle school, I was a member of the Power of the Pen club, which is a co-curricular centered around creative writing. I am currently enrolled in Honors English 10 after successfully finishing Honors English 9. I hope to inspire students with my love for English, and I hope to share my skills to help them succeed as well! I love animals, running, and baking sweet treats, and I can't wait to see what my students like, too. Learning is always more fun when we can share what we love!

As a tutor for third-graders, I use the SEE teaching method: structure, engage, empower. First, I plan to clearly outline the session's objective. Second, I use fun materials and projects to make the lessons more exciting. Third, I empower them by providing challenging questions and mini-review quizzes. My lessons will follow this teaching method, but the structure and engaging activities will vary to fit students' needs.
A typical lesson plan will include: a mini lesson that teaches the concept, guided practice, independent practice, and a fun activity.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my custom lesson plans and the creative activities I arrange for the students. I am relatively close in age to the students, too, which helps me naturally understand their school experiences and the questions they may have.
These lessons are targeted for elementary through middle schoolers who need help with their reading and grammar skills.

I think Cassie is a great teacher because she is always helpful, kind, caring, and nice. While I was in 1st through 4th grade, Cassie frequently helped me after school with my homework and taught me small tricks to better understand English class. I am going into 7th grade and she is still my go to tutor whenever I need someone to help with English. I like math more than writing, but I am now pretty confident in confusing areas of English due to Cassie’s help.
Cassie is exceptional. She carries a 4.1 GPA at a competitive high school. In fact, she earned the highest A in her Honors English course and is an avid and dedicated reader. She is an incredibly hard worker and has worked with young children (babysitting/teaching bible school/reading to her young siblings). At 14 years old, she ran her first HALF MARATHON and was in the top 10% of finishers! She competes on the Varsity Cross Country team for her high school. As 13 years old, she was the Alphajump-Cleveland Catapult Winner for her 'Cookies Around the World' idea. All in all, Cassie is amazing.
