About Lorenzo

The music business can be a very competitive and lonely environment in its chaos. I would like to give the opportunity to serious and motivated people to learn from my experience and my mistakes, to feel prepared to face this world together with someone who has really lived it and is living it.

I want to share my writing, producing, mixing and mastering experience in various environments and using both Logic and Ableton. Hundreds and hundreds of writing sessions for pop music, films, adverts, underground electronic music. I've released on most major labels, streamed many millions of plays, played shows all over the world. Your level doesn't matter, but your desire to get serious does. We'll start with the basics, or a review of them, and then progress to concrete techniques and strategies for writing and producing truly professional songs, depending on your level.

Find out more about Lorenzo

  • When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

I discovered music on my own, when I was about 15, as no one played in my house. However, my father had an old guitar in the garage, which then became a real obsession!
  • What music could you listen to on loop and never get tired of it?

I like many musical genres, I believe that there is the right music for every occasion. As with food: the more you learn to appreciate it, the more beautiful and varied life becomes! However, among my favourites we certainly have electronic music and jazz.
  • What is the hardest or most surprising lesson you remember?

Probably the one on perspective, when I learned from two fantastic international producers that the ability to move from a Micro to a Macro vision is perhaps the most important for creating, and you never stop learning it. Knowing how to move from the smallest detail of your "painting", as an insider, to "how does it make me feel?" of those who have never played a note on an instrument.
  • What, in your opinion, is the most complicated instrument to play and why?

Each can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. Do you want to learn how to play a few chords? Or do you want to become a classical concert performer? They are very different goals, with very different approaches. For me the most important aspect is studying instruments from a creative and emotional point of view, asking myself: what can I get out of them?
  • What are, in your opinion, the keys to success in the musical field (besides those of G and F :-P)?

Determination. Perpetual learning. Get involved, out of your comfort zone, but also take care of yourself and your own inspiration. Learn to listen.
  • Who are the musicians with whom you would like to improvise a jam session or perform in concert? Why?

Definitely Jimi Hendrix as a guitarist, although I fear it won't be possible. Among those on the scene now, Fred Again and Apparat.
  • Tell us a funny or special anecdote related to your education or work!

Once, with a friend, we created the ugliest beat we could think of and sent it to our manager telling him that he absolutely had to send it to all the "big" players in the industry because it would be the next big hit. And he was actually going to do it. To die of laughter.
  • What makes you a true Superprof adored by all students?

I teach because I like doing it and I want to share my experience. If I deal with people who are really determined to improve in the musical field, and to grow, for me it's just a pleasure.
