About Makari
I am a somatic awareness educator. My role is to teach the Grounding in Consciousness method and the somatic consciousness information behind it: Notice, Ground in Consciousness, Listen, and Apply Pressure. I teach one-on-one online lessons for educational purposes only. I do not provide therapy, counseling, coaching, guidance, or medical advice. The practices I teach are self-administered and intended for self-awareness, so you can use them on your own after the lessons are complete.

Be Present offers one-on-one lessons in somatic awareness education. Each lesson teaches the Grounding in Consciousness method and the somatic consciousness information behind it: Notice, Ground in Consciousness, Listen, and Apply Pressure.
The method has four locked steps. Two are required in every lesson: Notice, and Ground in Consciousness. Two are optional supports: Listen, and Apply Pressure. Every lesson, including the free intro, teaches all four steps in full, taught for you to use on your own afterward.
Every lesson teaches:
- All four steps of the method
- Which steps are required, which are optional
- How to use it on your own afterward
These lessons are for educational purposes only. They are not therapy, counseling, coaching, guidance, or medical advice. The practices taught are for self-awareness, taught for you to use yourself.
Every practice you learn is self-administered. I teach you how to use each one on your own, so you can continue independently after the lessons are complete.

Logistics:
- Location: online only, via video call
- First lesson: the free 10-minute lesson covers all four steps in full
- What the student needs: a quiet space and a microphone with an optional camera, nothing else
- Before any lesson: a short intake and consent form is completed
