About Ross
Hi, I’m a professional software engineer working in the Space, Defence & Intelligence sector, with a First-Class BSc and a Distinction MSc in Computer Science.
I have a strong academic background, achieving A* in Maths and Computer Science, as well as A in Further Maths and Physics. This foundation, combined with my industry experience, allows me to teach both the theory and its real-world application in a clear and engaging way.
My approach to tutoring is centred around understanding, not memorisation. I focus on breaking down complex topics into simple, logical steps so that students gain genuine confidence in their abilities. Whether it’s mastering core concepts, improving problem-solving skills, or preparing for exams, I tailor each lesson to suit the individual student’s needs and learning style.
I’ve worked with complex systems and problem-solving in a professional environment, so I bring a structured, methodical approach to teaching. At the same time, I’m patient, approachable, and supportive — creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace.
I can help students at multiple levels, from building a solid foundation at GCSE, to achieving top grades at A-Level, and supporting university students with more advanced Maths & Computer Science topics.

I offer GCSE Maths tutoring for students who want to:
• Improve confidence and understanding
• Catch up on difficult topics
• Achieve top grades (including 7–9)
With A* in Maths and A in Further Maths at A-level, I bring both strong subject knowledge and a logical, structured teaching style. I focus on breaking down complex topics into simple steps, ensuring students truly understand rather than memorise.

Ross is a friend of mine and tutored my younger brother whilst he was preparing for his GCSE maths exam. I had helped my parents find several tutors for my brother previously, but none of these were able to capture the level of engagement that Ross did. It is very clear to see that Ross has younger siblings himself and combining this with his knowledge and experience in computer science, I cannot recommend him enough :)
