About Julie
I am a trained anthropologist and work in film and culture in Tromsø. I have extensive experience with Spanish, both through formal education and informal practice. I have an approved semester in Spanish and Latin America studies from Vestfold University College, which was conducted in Nicaragua, Central America in 2011. I have since spent a lot of time in the region, learned a lot about Latin American culture and practiced the language in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador. I love speaking Spanish and am very happy to share my knowledge of the language with others who want to learn Spanish and who may lack opportunities to practice the language.

Teaching methods and teaching arrangements are tailored to your wishes and needs. I like to take your level as a starting point, but if you have a formal education in Spanish and only need to practice the language, I prefer to do mostly oral and conversation-based training. In my experience, one learns best in less formal conversations or presentations about a chosen topic. I can also offer customized writing training and teaching/discussion training in socio-political topics from the region and Spanish language literature. If you want to work diligently with vocabulary and grammar, I will guide you in a combination of oral reading, writing and texts translation.
