About Lavanya
Hi, I’m currently a student at Singapore Management University with a strong academic track record and a passion for helping students excel in Mathematics. I have consistently performed well academically, scoring 95% in 12th board exams and 1400 on the SAT, which reflects my strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
What makes my teaching style different is that I focus on how a student thinks, not just what they solve. I pay attention to where they get stuck, why mistakes happen, and then work on fixing those gaps step by step. I keep my lessons interactive and adaptive, so students feel comfortable asking questions and actually engaging with the subject.
I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in helping students improve, not just in terms of grades, but also in confidence and clarity. Over time, my goal is to make Math feel less overwhelming and much more manageable.

My approach is simple: I focus on helping students truly understand concepts rather than memorizing formulas. Math becomes much easier (and even enjoyable!) when you see the logic behind it. I break down topics into clear, manageable steps and adapt my teaching style based on each student’s pace and learning style.
In my lessons, I typically start with explaining concepts, followed by guided practice and then independent problem-solving, while also sharing exam strategies and common pitfalls. Each session lasts around 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing enough time for both learning and practice. I can also increase/decrease the time as per the requirement of the student.
I am willing to teach Primary and Secondary school students who are looking to improve their fundamentals, prepare for exams, and aim for higher scores.
