About Cheryl
I was born in Guangzhou, China, and have lived in Australia for eight years. Mandarin is my native language. I have been teaching Mandarin as a community teacher for four years and have developed a variety of study materials for my students. I typically create personalized learning materials tailored to each student’s level of Chinese proficiency, helping them immerse themselves more effectively in the language. One fun aspect of my lessons is my love for sharing modern Chinese slang commonly used by young people and discussing cultural differences with my students.

While recognizing the importance of speaking a language is valuable, it is not enough on its own. Rather than memorizing unfamiliar and tedious vocabulary, it’s essential to make the learning process enjoyable and engaging. Finding fun and creative ways to interact with the language can make learning more effective and truly enjoyable。
I usually begin each lesson with 5 minutes of listening to Pinyin, followed by introducing new content such as Chinese slang, vocabulary, and grammar. We then practice speaking on a different topic each week. Additionally, I can customize the lessons to meet any specific requirements you may have.
