About Atharv
Hi! I'm Atharv, a passionate architecture student at the University of Houston and a multi-subject tutor with years of experience in teaching friends and students across the city. I specialize in breaking down tough topics into simple, creative explanations that click. If you’ve ever said, “I just don’t get it,” I’m here to help you finally get it.
A little more about me- my architectural background has sharpened my problem-solving skills and taught me how to think critically and visually, which I bring into all my tutoring sessions. My advanced software skills and job experience in design have given me real-world knowledge I love sharing with students. On top of that, I serve as a Resident Advisor at the university dorms, where I’ve learned how to connect with students from all walks of life and support their learning with patience and empathy.
These experiences make my approach personal, effective, and unlike your average tutor. Let’s make learning easier together.

My lessons are built around clarity, creativity, and confidence. I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring difficult concepts at their own pace.
Teaching Method & Techniques:
1. Visual Explanations: As an architecture student, I naturally think in diagrams and flows. I bring that same clarity into the subjects with sketches, mind maps, and visuals to simplify abstract topics.
2. Step-by-Step Learning: I break down each concept into manageable pieces, so students build a solid foundation before moving on.
3. Interactive Engagement: Lessons aren’t just lectures. I ask questions, encourage discussion, and get students involved to reinforce learning actively.
Typical Lesson Plan:
1. Warm-Up: We start with a quick review or diagnostic question to identify where you’re at.
2. Concept Breakdown: I explain the main topic in a way that suits your learning style - visual, verbal, or hands-on.
3. Guided Practice: We work through example problems together, focusing on the why behind each step.
4. Independent Practice: You’ll apply the concept with problems while I support and correct when needed.
5. Wrap-Up & Reinforcement: We end with a summary, tips, and a quick preview of what's next to build confidence.
What Sets My Lessons Apart:
1. My creative background in design gives me a unique edge in explaining things visually and intuitively
2. I’m deeply patient and student-focused, especially helpful for those who feel left behind in class
3. My role as an RA has trained me to connect personally and adapt to different learning needs and personalities
Whether you’re trying to pass a class, prepare for a test, or just want to finally understand what’s going on in math, science or design I’ve got you.
