About Ivor

I'm Ivor, a Year 13 student in Sheffield studying A-level Maths, Physics and Economics. I got [GCSE grades: Maths 8, Physics 8], so I remember exactly which topics feel hardest at GCSE, and the shortcuts that helped me.

I'm used to teaching younger students. I'm a judo black belt and coach junior sessions at my club, and I'm chairman of its committee, so I'm used to explaining things clearly, being patient, and being trusted by parents.

I'm applying for civil engineering degree apprenticeships, where maths and physics are used every day, so I can show students why the topics matter beyond the exam

Every lesson starts with what you're stuck on right now: a homework question, a topic you've missed, or a past paper. We break it into small steps until it makes sense, then you try similar questions on your own while I watch and help. That's how it sticks.

What a typical hour looks like:

10 min: quick check of last week's topic
35 min: the new topic, worked examples, then your turn
15 min: exam-style questions and how the marks are given
I follow your exam board ([AQA / Edexcel / OCR]) and use real past-paper questions, so you practise what you'll actually be tested on. After each lesson I send a short summary of what we covered and 3–5 practice questions.

Lessons are online by video call with a shared whiteboard. For students under 16, I agree times and payment with a parent, and parents are welcome to sit in. The first 15-minute call is free, so we can check it's a good fit.
