About Livia
PhD candidate status at the University of Oxford does not mean I ignore the practical realities of the chessboard. After guiding 354 students, I understand that real progress comes from deep focus on tactical patterns and piece coordination.
My work involves teaching you how to master pawn structures, recording, and notation while managing your time effectively. I have spent 13 years helping tournament players and rated juniors refine their games through rigorous study. I offer a specialised opening repertoire built specifically for your style of play. Effective chess improvement requires a commitment to understanding why a specific move functions better than others in a given position. Pattern recognition matters. I emphasise the necessity of opening repertoire building and long-term piece coordination to help online and scholastic players climb their rankings. You will spend our time analysing your specific tournament games to identify where your decision making falters under the pressure of the clock.
By concentrating on these technical building blocks, you develop the ability to handle any board state with genuine poise. I provide the framework that allows you to see the geometry of the game with newfound clarity. How will you respond when your opponent makes an unexpected move?
