About Drew
I’m Drew! I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 2018. My college career was very pivotal in my development as an independent learner. I learned how to collaborate with others, complete assignments before deadlines, and manage my time in order to get everything done. I was able to graduate in 4 years with a solid engineering 3.3 GPA while tutoring on two different websites part-time, working as a student programmer for the university, and maintaining a mobile app with my cofounder that obtained over 10K downloads. I have been tutoring over 5 years and I have earned over 2000 positive reviews on many different tutoring sites! I have tutored writing, Computer Science fundamentals, C#, Java, JavaScript, C++, C, HTML, CSS, XML, PHP, React, Ionic, Android Development, and much, much more. I have a very collaborative and energetic tutoring style. I like interacting using audio and video when tutoring remotely, drawing pictures, coding with the student, and making sure they understand the material. I often try to simplify subjects and ensure the student understands what I am teaching. I ask a lot of questions and try to be engaging as possible. I also like to find as many outside resources as possible that students can use to learn even faster. I love teaching and I love helping people achieve their goals. I love to jump on Google Meet or another meeting software and code with my students.
I like to get hands-on experience, demonstrating solutions and problem-solving techniques, while taking turns to write code and solve problems.
I am very collaborative and engaging, always prioritizing my student's success and understanding before anything else.
I frequently ask if things are making sense, and if they don't I strive to help students truly understand the topics and motivation for using them.
Lessons are for all ages looking to improve their computer programming and problem solving skills using cutting edge technologies.
