About Irving
I have always been strong in math and have spent years developing a deep understanding of algebra and problem solving. I currently tutor part-time at local schools, which has helped me refine how I explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning styles. What I enjoy most is seeing how math applies to real life, especially through engineering and everyday situations. As the oldest sibling in my family, I naturally took on the role of helping my younger siblings with their schoolwork, which taught me patience and how to break things down step by step. I enjoy helping students reach those moments where everything finally clicks.

I am a senior Electrical Engineering student at Old Dominion University with a strong background in algebra and foundational math. I know how frustrating math can feel when it starts to move too fast or when the steps do not fully make sense. My goal is to slow things down, explain concepts clearly, and help students actually understand what they are doing instead of just memorizing procedures.
I focus on building confidence just as much as improving grades. When students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, that is when real progress happens. I work with students on algebra, pre algebra, geometry basics, and general math support. Whether it is homework help, test preparation, or strengthening weak areas, I aim to make each session clear, structured, and encouraging.
My approach is patient, practical, and centered on helping students feel capable and independent over time.
