About Walid
I am a Senior Corrosion and Materials Engineer with over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, working on major projects across different regions and engineering environments.
My experience covers materials selection, corrosion assessment, sour service, damage mechanisms, corrosion monitoring, coatings, cathodic protection and asset integrity. I regularly work with industry standards such as API 571, NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156, ASME and other international engineering standards.
I hold a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering and I am a Professional Member of the Institute of Corrosion (MICorr).
I enjoy explaining technical subjects in a clear and practical way, particularly by connecting engineering theory with real situations encountered in oil and gas projects. My aim is to help students and engineers not only understand corrosion, but also learn how experienced engineers approach real engineering problems.

I offer practical, easy-to-follow online lessons in Corrosion and Materials Engineering, with a strong focus on real oil & gas applications. My lessons are tailored to your level and goals, whether you are a university student, graduate engineer, or industry professional.
Topics can include corrosion fundamentals, materials selection, API 571 damage mechanisms, ARAMCO standards, corrosion allowance, stainless steels and duplex materials, coatings, cathodic protection, corrosion monitoring, chemical treatment, failure analysis and asset integrity.
I use practical examples from real engineering projects to explain not only the theory, but also how corrosion and materials decisions are made in industry. I can also help with technical interview preparation, understanding engineering standards, and developing your practical corrosion engineering skills.
