About Andrey
My journey has been an exciting blend of academic exploration and real-world application, shaped by a deep passion for problem-solving and innovation.
I began my academic journey studying Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. During my time there, I cultivated a strong analytical mindset and honed my critical thinking skills, which have been invaluable assets throughout my career.
After completing my studies, I ventured into the world of management (strategy) consulting, joining Strategy& where I delved into the dynamic intersection of technology and sustainability. At Strategy&, I focused on advising clients on how to navigate key commercial questions.
My main focuses were in M&A due diligence, looking into whether an acquisition is the right fit for a buyer and what makes it an attractive investment. Further, I did a lot of sustainability work, mainly around decarbonization strategy, helping companies find ways to lower emissions while maintaining commercial feasibility.
My experience at Strategy& allowed me to work closely with a diverse range of clients, from emerging private equity groups to established multinational corporations, across various industries. I relished the opportunity to tackle complex challenges head-on, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that address both business objectives and environmental considerations.
Drawing from my background in philosophy and my hands-on experience in consulting, I bring a unique perspective to my tutoring sessions. I believe in empowering individuals to think critically, approach problems with creativity, and unlock their full potential. I emphasize understanding the underlying principles that are required to successfully solve a case study rather than rote memorization, encouraging critical thinking and creative problem-solving.

1. Conceptual Frameworks: I start by explaining fundamental consulting frameworks such as Porter's Five Forces, SWOT analysis, and value chain analysis, ensuring students grasp their application in real-world scenarios.
2. Case Study Practice: I provide a wide range of case studies covering various industries and business problems. Students learn to structure their approach, analyze data, identify key issues, and formulate actionable recommendations.
3. Mock Interviews: I conduct mock interviews simulating the consulting interview process, providing constructive feedback on students' performance, communication skills, and analytical reasoning.
4. Personalized Feedback: I tailor my teaching to address individual strengths and weaknesses, offering personalized guidance to help students overcome challenges and maximize their potential.
Typical Length of a Lesson:
A typical lesson lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours, allowing sufficient time for in-depth discussion, case study practice, and feedback.
Qualifications/Experience as a Tutor:
- Former consultant at Strategy&, a tier two strategy consultancy, with extensive experience in conducting case interviews and evaluating candidates.
- Successfully coached numerous candidates to secure offers from top consulting firms, including McKinsey, Bain, and BCG.
- Holds a BA from Cambridge where I was part of several consulting clubs and even founded my own student-run consultancy
