About Megan
I am a two-time graduate of the University of Central Florida, with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and a Master's degree in School Counseling. Math was always my favorite subject growing up, and I have 5+ years of tutoring experience. I am comfortable tutoring from basic math (pre-algebra or earlier) up through Pre-Calculus. I want to ensure that your student is comfortable and knowledgeable in the material so they can master their classes. I am open to tutoring virtually, but prefer to meet in a public place within 5 miles.

My teaching method is to break down mathematics problems into the simplest form. You cannot assume that a student has mastered even a basic concept when solving a problem. I must make sure that they have the basic skills down of the problem so that they can more easily compute answers on their own. I also work for understanding rather than memorization. I stress using the correct academic vocabulary. I typically work with students on homework or test review. We start with breaking down the steps of the problem, and then go into assistance as the student completes the problem on their own.
