About Lorcan
I understand fully how difficult GCSEs and A-Levels are on student's wellbeing, and being given a tutor can be demoralising for a student who already is faced with exam stress. I aim to be a friendly face and, though I am at university, I always like to say I am a student not a teacher.
I will teach exam technique and revision methods alongside the syllabus so that a student is able to effectively revise content themselves, my favourite way to teach is helping students go over past-papers as it is the best reflection of how they will do in an exam and is the best way to identify weaknesses. Working on weaknesses proactively is the best way to see instant results and get the best out of tutoring.

My primary focus is always on students' mindset and their attitude to learning. Every child has the ability to get the highest grades when the right attitude and healthy revision habits are implemented. I want to get to know the student, engage with parents about their work habits at home and understand their relationships with their teachers so that each child can build their own support network.
My goal is to teach the child to the highest possible standard by looking at their previous tests in order to identify their weaknesses, which will see tangible results from the very first lesson. I can promise that each student will have high quality sessions that I will take time to prepare in advance, and will be set work by me based on what I think the best pathway forward is which will complement their school work or revision without obstructing it.
