About Kathryn
Welcome! My name is Kathryn, a 2nd year medical student in Perth, who is offering advice and guidance for Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) preparation. Excelling in these interviews is key to securing a spot in medical school, and as a current medical student, I understand how anxiety-inducing these interviews can be. Due to this, I aim to use my own experiences and the information I’ve gathered from other successful applicants, to help guide you to use your unique strengths to stand out while answering ethical dilemmas, responding to challenging scenarios, and using your own experiences to demonstrate your competence in being a team player, leader, and clear communicator. Here is why I would be a great interview tutor for you: I am an untraditional student who has a unique pathway to medicine. My journey has involved dropping out of high school, to being the graduate with the highest GPA in my undergraduate major, and then finally to, medical student. This journey has allowed me to develop a strong set of skills through years of hard work, dedication, and trial-and-error. It also provided me with the ability to understand and empathize with those of similar backgrounds and provide a unique perspective to those with a more traditional path. I look forward to helping you complete your pre-med journey with confidence and a secure foundation for your medical school journey!

As a 2nd year medical student, I’ve successfully gone through the journey of preparing for the MMI process. From this, I bring my own experiences and the information handed to me from other successful applicants to help guide you on your own MMI journey.
My lessons are tailored to help you build confidence, improve your communication and reasoning skills, and mitigate anxiety so you can excel in your Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs).
For this, I focus on:
- Active practice
- Detailed feedback to personalise learning.
- Improving strategy and structure to better showcase your reasoning and communication skills, professionalism, and your empathy.
Lesson Details:
Lesson length – Typically 1 hour
Lesson Format – Online (video call).
Lesson Structure:
Each lesson will involve a warm-up discussion to identify any concerns you may have and find a focus area to base the practice scenarios around. I will provide real-time and written feedback after each practice scenario, and we will conclude with a personalised plan for addressing areas of improvement.

Kathryn was my tutor for the Interviews given by the universities to get into medical school. She was great in teaching me the skills to come up with well though out answers in a time limited scenario that the universities desire.
