About Cato
Up until Year 8, I actually hated maths and struggled to understand it in class. Everything changed after just one lesson with a tutor, where I finally learnt the basics of algebra, that was the moment it all clicked. That experience is what inspired me to tutor, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and understanding in maths.

GCSE and A level maths tutoring covering all exam boards. Lessons are either one to one or group sessions ranging from 30 mins to 1 hour.
Students will start by completing a test that will highlight their strengths and weaknesses in each subject area. Topic based tutoring will follow from this with deep focus on weaker areas and overviews on stronger areas. Each lesson will consist of a taught lesson followed by taught examples ending with the student completing questions independently with available support. Optional extra questions will be assigned for the student to complete after the session to promote knowledge to be stored in their long term memory.
I have previous experience in GCSE tutoring where I was provided one to one support with a GCSE student while in their class. From this I observed the teacher and understood their teaching methods and also mirrored these skills into a more focused method to provide further help to the student.

I study at the University of Sheffield with Cato. Our courses overlap a lot (my computer science to her maths) so for a lot of the more complicated maths topics I rely on her to explain. She always manages to help me make sense of anything that comes up. She has a way of being patient and really knowing exactly what it is I don't understand that means she's always the first person I go to for help. I honestly really recommend her.
