About Ozcan
As a student I used to struggle with my Maths A-Level due to many reasons whether that be the teaching method employed by my teachers, lack of confidence when answering questions or difficulty in even understanding what the questions wants me to do. However looking back over the content it is straightforward and I realise now that I struggled more than should have. Maths isn't hard the hard part is understanding the content and grasping what the equations mean after you have understood it the problems become easy and fun at times. I'd like to guide you in your maths journey ensuring you don't fall in the same pitfalls that I fell into.

I have been a private tutor for over a year now only teaching in person and to groups of 3-4 A-Level students at a time. I am currently a student at King's College London in my second year having achieved a first class in my end of year exams for year one. Starting off with student I will ask them for the book that is recommended by the exam board and we will discuss what topics they struggle with and what topics they understand after the discussion I will quiz them in order to take a look at where they are and following from this I will make a plan to target their weak areas and teach them weekly administering homework each week to reinforce the content taught that week. I like to show the student a few examples on the topic that they find difficult and let them quiz me on the steps of the solution after this I will give them the same question type with different values and ask them to solve it whilst also questioning them on why they solve it in the way that they do. if I feel the student doesn't quite understand I will show them more examples and let them try more problems. I recommend lessons to be 1.5 hours long as this is the minimum amount of time taken to get through 1 topic and carry out a test to make sure the student has understood the lesson.
