About Lyra
I have completed A-levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Achieving A*AAA and have now gone on to study Physics and mathematics integrated masters at the University of Bristol having attained a first class grade in my first year of study and am now moving into my second year.
I have an incredible passion for the subjects I study and teach, and my aim when tutoring is not only to help students understand key concepts and improve exam technique but also to motivate and inspire students to find maths and physics as interesting and exciting as I do.

I can offer 1-2 hour lessons on a flexible schedule, for students at GCSE or A-level in maths and Physics.
My lessons usually follow the rough structure of:
- a few warm up questions to consolidate pervious learning
- an in depth and involved explanation of the topic the student is unsure of including worked examples and active discussion to build understanding
- guided practice to build confidence with the topic and identify gaps in understanding
- an independently worked exam question with feedback to build exam technique
However I do understand that everyone learns differently and I aim to tailor lessons to the individual students learning style and the goal of the sessions, whether that involves building foundational knowledge or exclusive exam preparation.
I have one year of experience with one on one tutoring, which has helped me to develop an approach which is patient, adaptable and helps students to feel more confident.
