About Teddy
I am a 2nd year Computer Science student at the University of Bristol. My degree has a strong focus on maths. I am an enthusiastic maths tutor and appreciate the importance of understanding concepts fully as well as the benefits of learning through doing lots of practice questions. I am patient, friendly and engage well with students and by concentrating on GCSE, IGCSE and Advanced (GCSE and IGCSE) Maths, I know the syllabuses well and what is needed to achieve the top grade - it's much easier than many students think! When I'm not coding or doing maths, I love playing hockey and tennis.

I start by assessing each student's strengths and weaknesses to tailor lessons to their needs. I make learning interactive and engaging to reinforce the material. I guide students through problems, giving hints to help them find solutions on their own. This builds critical thinking and independence. I encourage students to practise independently after guided sessions to boost their confidence. Exam practice is essential, so I provide exam-style questions at the end of each topic. If a method isn't working, I adjust my approach to fit the student's learning style. Lessons typically last an hour, but I'm flexible and can extend sessions if needed. I also give regular feedback and progress reports to keep students and parents informed. This comprehensive approach supports and motivates students for success.
