I teach Arabic at all proficiency levels, from absolute beginner to advanced. Typically, I build on your prior knowledge so you feel empowered from the start. I do not conduct a lesson without a carefully prepared learning plan. This helps me determine the learning objectives, spell out the activities leading to the achievement of these goals, and then a learning check to make sure you have attained the preset learning goals. The ultimate objective to create a communicative atmosphere so you feel confident in your ability to speak, understand, read, and write. I believe in the value of correctness, but will let it stand in the way of communication. My understanding of learning theory helps me finetune my pedagogy to suit a wide range of learning styles.
