About Callysta
I am a scientist and principal investigator for a clinical research organization that works with pharmaceutical companies to test potential new medications and treatments for a variety of illnesses and diseases. I have worked in the industry for about three and a half years and received my Master's of Science in Biology and have had a passion for science since I was ten years old. My scientific knowledge covers the entire realm of biology alongside the basic chemistry needed in K-12 education. I was a tutor during college and therefore have experience helping students through classes.

Alongside typical coverage of material needed for classes, I like to include discussions of current or recent scientific research articles to help enhance understanding of topics. I feel that including real-world material helps set up a better understanding of material (as many of my previous college professors also did) and helps students understand the "why" for the material covered in a typical class. While my aim is to teach high school level, I have also done a variety of hands-on "experiments" with younger family members and would also be thrilled to teach elementary/middle school aged students about the sciences.
