About Oliver
I have been teaching Biology since 2019, having previously worked and studied in the field for years, which is where I developed my love for the subject. Biology is central to our existence, and sharing a love and appreciation of the subject in all of its aspects is integral to society as we now face the challenges of a changing world. In teaching Biology I always push my students to broaden their understanding and help students achieve a depth of knowledge that allows them to identify links within the curriculum, with this being proven to improve retention and recall, as well as helping them to understand the relationships within, and between organisms, and the complex systems that support the living world.

My approach to teaching has always been to work alongside my students, to understand their learning needs and utilize a broad range of teaching strategies to provide a catered approach to learning Biology. I always link my practice to theories of learning in educational neuroscience, with strategies aimed at targeting retention and recall of key subject knowledge. I work with students to help them attain a deep contextual understanding of Biology, giving them the confidence to succeed in assessments. I am extremely passionate about Biology and always seek to share this passion in my teaching practice.
