About Xabier
am currently working as a full-time Science
teacher at Kings College, Guildford U.K. where I have been teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics since
December 2018. I have been fortunate to discover the high standards of teaching in the U.K. Education
System.
Apart from a Masters in Secondary Education, I hold a degree in Veterinary Science from the University of
Santiago de Compostela. I worked as a veterinary technician for 6 years at a successful biotech company in
Spain.
I also participated in a research project at the University of Vigo and another project regarding the recovery
of a psittacidae species in Venezuela.
Beyond my professional experience as a teacher and a veterinarian, l consider myself a committed, active
and pro-active worker, constantly seeking personal and professional development. I would also like to point
out that I speak English at a C1-C2 level.

About the lesson

I teach the theory first, trying to engage students with frequent connections to everyday life situations related to the topic. Once the theory is understood, I move to practical or exam-style questions. First, I model some questions and answers and then I give the students the opportunity to try on their own, guiding them when needed.
