About Pooja
I recently graduated from Rutger's University Honors Program with a degree in Genetics, French, and Chemistry Education. I am currently in the Robert Wood Johnson Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Teaching has been a huge and integral aspect of my college career and I learned a lot through my Certificate in Chemistry Education (CCE). Teaching Introduction to Experimentation Chemistry Lab at Rutgers University for the past two years has been such an important part of my life because it has helped me grow as a person. Not only have I gotten more passionate about science, but I also realized how important communication is in any field. I developed an affinity to teach other students because it was a way for me to express my ideas.

As a Teacher, my ultimate goal is to be an efficient communicator who can guide my students in solving problems and help them understand the material. As an instructor, I also wanted to develop a teaching style that will enable my students to become critical thinkers. By becoming critical thinkers, I want them to not only understand the material they are currently studying but I also want them to be able to evaluate independently, rationalize, and learn to systematically approach a problem.
I view my office hours as not just a learning session but more so as a mentoring period. Not only do students come to my office hours for chemistry questions, but they also come to learn about time management, coping skills, and planning future endeavors. Chemistry is an abstract course that consists of both macroscopic observations and microscopic explanations. My primary objective is to develop a bridge between the macroscopic observations and microscopic explanations.
ALL my students have shown tremendous improvement as well as reported that they all achieved high scores in classes nd SAT after lessons.
