About Samukelisiwe
My journey at the UKZN was very bumpy however along the way I learnt to keep going at all times, till I achieve my goal.
Mathematics is known to be a very challenging subject which is true but it takes one to remain determined, never ashamed to ask for help inorder to perfect the skill.
I have had it tough during my studying years but these challenges worked in my favour because I learnt to be more focused, patient, resilient, kind to self in taking my time to learn the content in my pace, never forgetting the main goal to making my dreams come true.
Indeed after all this I came out stronger,wiser and with a deep desire to share knowledge with all kinds of students from different backgrounds.
Today I hold a degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics because I never gave up on myself.
Beginning of 2021 I was hired for a 4 month contract at Nomavimbela high school as a teacher's assistant to teach grade 11s and 12s and this opportunity has exposed me to understanding better on how to teach and learning what challenges students really face and I am willing to take that path in helping any student in need of mathematical schoolwork.
My words to you ,is to remind you that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it, keeping your eyes fixed to the end goal always.
This is your future believe in it and fight for it.

-Most importantly is to build a relationship with the students so that I am able to see how long they get to understand the content taught.
-Making them feel comfortable enough to ask any questions and answer them to the best of my ability.
-I believe in leading by example,
meaning I would teach the topic first step by step,
ensuring that the student understands.
-Then let them tackle the challenge on their own to allow them to take charge by applying the knowledge they have, in combination with what they learnt guiding them through out.
-Celebrating every milestone they achieve which I believe it will keep them encouraged to always excel and push themselves at any given time to succeed.
