About Rory
I am 24 years old, Irish and am really passionate about languages. I attended school in Dublin and then moved to the UK to study my undergraduate degree in French and Politics. I returned to Ireland to complete a masters in Management before spending 6 months in Latin America learning Spanish. I will be soon be starting a role as a management consultant with a multinational consultancy firm. I am committed to teaching languages until and outside of this as it is something that I thoroughly enjoy.
Having learned Irish, French and Spanish, I am used to being new to a language and the challenges it faces. I have also taught English through both Spanish and French and have learned a variety of ways to communicate ideas to pupils. I am rigorous in my preparation and make a full commitment to the pupil to address any questions outside of lesson hours.
Outside of work/education, I spend a lot of time playing sport, watching films and listening to music!

My lessons incorporate a practical approach with each lesson focusing on a written or spoken text to provide exposure to colloquial, 'quotidien' French. This text will be used as a lens to explore grammatical topics relevant to the student as well as vocabulary sets that will develop this important aspect of the student's ability. Each lesson will contain periods of French-only dialogue to help the student adapt to these situations and develop this capacity over the tutoring period.
I will also provide insight into various books/television shows/news sources/ podcasts and films that have helped me at the different points in my language journey. I will allocate time to discussing such extracurricular French and any questions relating to school/university/other classes taken by the pupil. I also offer round-the clock support for any language queries the pupil may have.
